    1. Glycolic acid is used in chemical cleaning


    Glycolic acid in 70% concentration is mainly used as cleaning agent, the mixture of glycolic acid in 2% concentration and 1% formic acid is a kind of cleaning agent with high efficiency but low cost which can be used as the main cleaning raw material for air conditioning, boiler, power plant conveying pipeline, condenser and heat exchanger.


    2. Glycolic acid is used in biodegradable materials


    It is widely used in the inner-body implanted sustained-release medicine system, implantable repair apparatus, biological absorbable surgical suture, artificial bone and organ materials which has a great prospect of development. Polylactic acid and polyglycolic acid have become the focus of development in the field of new materials.


    3. Glycolic acid is used in fungicides


    Because glycolic acid contains the special structure of hydroxide radical and carboxyl groups, it can form hydrophilic chelates with metal cations through coordination bonds, so it has obvious inhibitory effect on the growth of iron oxide bacteria which can be used as fungicides or it can also be used as inhibitors in various ore flotation.


    4. Glycollic acid is used in daily chemicals


    The glycolic acid in the concentration of  99% is an effective medicament to remove dead skin and fine hair. It can synthesize alpha hydroxy acid which is the the raw material of making anti-aging and whitening cosmetics. It has the effects of moisturizing and renew the skin. The molecular weight of glycolic acid is very small so it can effectively penetrate the skin pores to to solve the skin problems like aging, wrinkles, black spots and acne in a short period of time. Therefore, it is unanimously respected by the medical beauty industry.


    5. Glycolic acid is used in electroplating process


    Glycolic acid can also be used in electroplating industry like sodium glycolate salt and potassium salt can be used as electroplating additives and also used as green chemical raw materials for electroplating grinding, metal pickling, leather dyeing and tanning agent. Glycolic acid is also a complexing agent for plating nickel with the advantages of corrosion resistance, fast-reacted and good gloss. It is the best raw addictive materials to improve the chemical nickel-plating.


    In addition, glycolic acid can be the coupling agent of dying the whole wool fiber and cellulose textures and the cross-linking agent for carboxylated fiber texture; it can also can be used as adhesives, petroleum demulsifiers, welding agents and coatings ingredients or synthesis of a variety of pharmaceutical, pesticide and chemical additives.
