MEDICINAL FILM COATING PREMIX (GASTRICSOLUBLE TYPE)

Features of MEDICINAL FILM COATING PREMIX (GASTRICSOLUBLE TYPE)

This Medicinal film Coating premix (Gastric-Soluble type) is designed for the direct film coating of tablets, granules, and pellets. It is a physical blend of ingredients including film forming agents, plasticizers, antitacking agents, colorants, and surfactants. During the coating process, a dispersion of the premix forms a multilayered film on the surface of the solid dosage form, imparting stable mechanical properties and providing protection against moisture, light, and oxidation, while also enhancing aesthetic appeal.

Moisture-Proof Type

This moisture proof coating premix utilizes Polyacrylic Resin IV as the film forming material and ethanol as the dispersion medium, enabling a low temperature coating process with minimal weight gain. It is particularly effective for coating formulations requiring high moisture resistance, such as traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) tablets. The resulting film coating remains insoluble and does not swell in media with a pH above 5.0, yet dissolves rapidly after reacting with acid in gastric fluid or media with a pH below 5.0, thereby providing moisture and oxygen barrier properties. The coating film possesses high toughness, allowing coated granules to be directly compressed into tablets, while also effectively masking unpleasant tastes.

Standard Type

The standard-type coating premix utilizes hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC) as the film-forming material and employs water or alcohol/water as the dispersion medium. It offers excellent solubility and produces a coating film with superior mechanical properties. Compatible with tablet cores of diverse quality specifications, this high-quality coating agent is the most widely used product in the category. The incorporation of colorants allows for light protection and aesthetic enhancement.

Packaging

Fiber drum with double-layer polyethylene inner bags; 25 kg per drum.

Storage

Store in a sealed container in a cool, dry place at room temperature.
